Social Equity Applicant Status Certification

Social Equity Applicant Status Certification period is open.

If an individual or a business entity is interested in applying for Social Equity Applicant Status Certification (SEASC), the below Interest Form must be filled out in order to access the SEASC Portal.  

Applicants, including individuals who plan to form an entity to apply for an Adult-Use Retail license, may not change their corporate structure after receiving Social Equity Applicant Status Certification unless they first obtain a variance from the Cannabis Control Commission, as required under 560-RICR-10-10-1.3.3. Any party intending to apply for an Adult-Use Retail license as an entity should submit their Social Equity Applicant Status Certification application under that same entity.

SEASC Dates/Deadlines: 

• Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) Interest Form Launch
  • Friday, August 7, 2026
• SEASC Portal Opens and Certification Application Period Begins
  • Tuesday, August 11, 2026
• CCC Interest Form Close
  • Friday, September 4, 2026 (After this date, applicants will not be able to begin a SEASC application. However, applicants who submit an Interest Form on or before this day will have until Friday, September 11, 2026 at 5:00 pm EST to complete their SEASC application)
• SEASC Portal Submissions Close
  • Friday, September 11, 2026
